In Jamaica, it is as easy to get married as it is to find just the
right wedding venue. In fact, it only takes a day to get the
marriage license. There is a 24-hour residency requirement with
proof of residency status (such as passport, airline ticket or
immigration card). Passports
For most Caribbean travel a valid passport or passport and visa may
be required depending on your nationality, travel destination, and
country or countries in which connections take place.
Birth Certificates
As proof of citizenship, some countries in the Caribbean may allow
an official state issued birth certificate. (these have a raised
stamped seal) Hospital birth certificates, including military
hospital birth certificates, are never acceptable for international
travel.
Children Traveling Without Both Parents
Many governments have initiated procedures requiring documentary
evidence of relationship and permission of the parent(s) for
children traveling without both parents. These countries require
parent(s) to have a notarized letter of consent from the absent
parent(s) for the minor to enter the country.
Married/Divorced/Widowed
Additionally, if either party was previously
Married/Divorced/Widowed traveling in any name other than what is on
their documentation must first supply a marriage license/divorce
decree or the death certificate of a deceased spouse must be
presented.

No blood tests are required and expect to pay around $200 for the
license. - Legal translation of documents to English where originals
are in another language and some hotels offer wedding packages which
include the processing of documents.
Jamaican law stipulates that weddings must be performed before 6pm.
Laws, requirements and fees are subject to change in accordance with
the laws of Jamaica. Jamaican weddings are legally recognized by the
United States, its territories, the United Kingdom and Canada.
A copy of the Marriage Certificate is given to the bride/groom
upon conclusion of the ceremony by the marriage officer. Two
certified copies of the Marriage Certificate are sent to you within
8 weeks following the ceremony.
