Jamaica Wedding Vacations...

In Jamaica, it is as easy to get married as it is to find just the right wedding venue. In fact, it only takes a day to get the marriage license. There is a 24-hour residency requirement with proof of residency status (such as passport, airline ticket or immigration card).

Passports
For most Caribbean travel a valid passport or passport and visa may be required depending on your nationality, travel destination, and country or countries in which connections take place.

Birth Certificates
As proof of citizenship, some countries in the Caribbean may allow an official state issued birth certificate. (these have a raised stamped seal) Hospital birth certificates, including military hospital birth certificates, are never acceptable for international travel.

Children Traveling Without Both Parents
Many governments have initiated procedures requiring documentary evidence of relationship and permission of the parent(s) for children traveling without both parents. These countries require parent(s) to have a notarized letter of consent from the absent parent(s) for the minor to enter the country.

Married/Divorced/Widowed
Additionally, if either party was previously Married/Divorced/Widowed traveling in any name other than what is on their documentation must first supply a marriage license/divorce decree or the death certificate of a deceased spouse must be presented.

- No blood tests are required and expect to pay around $200 for the license.

- Legal translation of documents to English where originals are in another language and some hotels offer wedding packages which include the processing of documents.

Jamaican law stipulates that weddings must be performed before 6pm. Laws, requirements and fees are subject to change in accordance with the laws of Jamaica. Jamaican weddings are legally recognized by the United States, its territories, the United Kingdom and Canada.
